Modernize

Moving to the cloud and using the cloud are not the same thing. Putting an application on a virtual machine and starting it gets it into the cloud; it does not bring scaling, managed services or a pay-as-you-go model with it. Modernization is the work of closing exactly that gap.

What we do here is rethink your application in terms of what GCP offers. Replacing components you built and maintain yourself with managed services, building a structure that scales out where the load grows, and removing resources that run while doing nothing.

What modernization looks like

  • Replacing self-operated database, queue and cache layers with managed services
  • Containerizing the application and making it scale out under load
  • Moving to a shape that consumes nothing during idle hours
  • Automating deployment and monitoring

We do not treat this as a rewrite done overnight. We keep the system running, start with the part that pays off most, and move step by step; each step is worth something on its own, and turning back stays possible throughout.

We explain how we start a piece of work and how we finish it, step by step.

If you are already in the cloud but not seeing the benefit you expected, there is a lot to talk about. Get in touch.
