Part of this site's code is written by AI agents, and they do it from two separate command-line tools — Claude Code CLI and Antigravity CLI — with the same repository, the same rules and the same tools. I describe what it looks like to build the product that runs the agent, and the model behind it, as replaceable parts: skills, tools, two mirrored permission layers and where a rule actually lives.
I have been building software without a break since 2008: 16 years as a CTO, main developer at Sabre Airline Solutions since 2015, and founder of Utopical Dev since 2024. A short account of who I am and how I work.
In 2018 I left Drupal and moved my own site to GCP — to run the technology I would be recommending before I recommended it. Eight years on, this is what that decision returned: the real line items, the test the architecture faced two years later, and how one mistake of mine was caught by alerting rather than by tests.
An account of the system running this page: one Angular monorepo, four GCP environments, two languages. From the journey of a single request to the service worker, from App Check gating even read requests to the test suite that can roll a deployment back.
Before you move your projects to Google Cloud Platform, we work out together where to start, which services will actually do the job, and where the cost will land.
